Aaron Knishkowy: Masada to Jerusalem Recap (June 20)

Masada, just be fore sunrise

Hey everyone, today I’m writing from the hotel we’re staying at in Jerusalem. We missed a day because of scheduling so we're catching you up here. Wednesday was absolutely crazy. After a brief 5 hours of “sleep” at the Bedouin tent experience, we woke up nice and early at 4:00 am. We hopped on the bus and made our way to Masada. Once we arrived, we walked up the Roman path to make it to the top to see the beautiful sunrise. We then toured Masada, learning about the history. We made our way down on the Snake Path, which led us to a great breakfast.

Following breakfast, We traveled to the Dead Sea. We went in the sea and floated around, followed by opportunities to try out the mud baths, sulfur pool, and just time to relax. After lunch, we all got back on the bus and drove to Jerusalem. Evidently we passed by some cool sink holes but I don’t really know because I was sleeping.

We arrived to our hotel in Bet Shmuel, where we will stay through Shabbat. Once we settled in, we had time to sleep, play cards, and watch some World Cup since we were all exhausted. In the evening, we began to explore Jerusalem by visiting Memilah, an outdoor mall with a lot of stores and places to buy food. It was a busy day and we all quickly fell asleep and got ready for our first full day in Jerusalem.
